PROCESS - The unrivalled SmartProof process

The SmartProof process begins when one of our fully trained consultants carries out a ground level inspection. They will assess your roof for signs of corroded and cracked tiles, damaged cement mortar and other problems such as slipped flashing.
Our consultants are friendly and efficient. They will never try to pressure you or use any hard selling techniques. They will simply assess your roof, advise you on the options and leave you with a free no obligation quote.

Our experienced fitters and technical engineers arrive on site and carry out a risk assesment. We thoroughly protect areas such as driveways, conservatories, patios and decking as well as solar panels and even plants!
We comply with all HSE legislation. We do not compromise. Gutters and downpipes are capped or disconnected to avoid blocking drains during the cleaning process. Any vehicles in close vicinty are moved to avoid spray damage!

The tiles are cleaned by high pressure water jetting which removes all traces of moss, algae, lichen, pollutants and carbonation.
The gutters are cleaned from both inside and outside to remove all silt that builds up over time.
This process is performed under great care so as not to block any existing downpipes.

All worn out mortar between crests, ridge and hip tiles are removed and replaced with a fibre re-enforced polymer mortar and re-bedding any loose ridges and crests.
Any broken, cracked and damaged tiles are replaced with the same or similar type.
Any damaged mortar verges are re-sealed ready for the next stage.

The existing surfaces are filled with a bio degradable detergent which clears any underlying family of mosses or lichens.
This prevents any future growth of those unwanted guests thereby preventing underneath spoilage of the finished coating.

A special SmartProof heat saving coat is applied at every treated area to restore micro-porosity to weathered tiles including hand treatment to edges and verges.
It stabilises the existing surface by absorbing itself to the treated tiles forming a thermal barrier Smartkoat (2 coats is equivalent to 66% thermal value of rockwool used in loft insulation). Exclusively available in the UK from SmartProof!

An airless spray equipment is used to apply the final coat in clients chosen colour.
This final coat reseals the roof completely forming a water barrier repelling any water from being absorbed by the roof tiles.
However it does not become a vapour barrier but in fact allows your roof to breathe.

After the coating has been applied all guttering, facias, driveway attached flat roofs, conservatories are washed down and made clean.
We also remove any debris, bags of moss and any other rubbish that has been collated over the process.
A final QC check is done by the senior installer with the customer before leaving.
